AlphaSort and FluidKit

Oct 16, 2009 at 3:14 PM

Hi there,

I am too having issues with prematurely renderd items within ElementFlow. As suggested I had a look at http://blogs.msdn.com/pantal/archive/2007/07/23/sorting-for-wpf-3d-transparency.aspx for
"sorting" this out, however I'm not quite sure where to add this to ElementFlow. Is FluidKit still actively developed? Does anyone know how to fix this annoying transparency issue?

Acutally I am not sure if this really is my bug...

Here is a picture of my problem:

You'll notice the blue rectangles blocking sight to elements farther away. As my Element is transparent this should be transparent too...

MauiMauer,

This is known limitation of the WPF 3D engine. Depth sorting is definitely one option but has performance implications. I am hoping that the WPF team will fix this at some point.

Also FluidKit is being actively developed. You can take a look at the Source Code tab to know the last checkin :-)

I have been wanting to do a refresh of the ElementFlow control but just haven't got the time to take it up.

Cheers!

Hi Pavan,

thanks for stopping by ;)
I'd really appreciate if you revisited ElementFlow, since in my opinion it is one of the most interesting parts of FluidKit.

Please let me know If i can help you testing approaches that fix this bug. Sadly, my own attempts to integrate the mentioned DepthSorting

just resulted in the order of the elements but not the order they get rendered. I guess i got somewhat confused with Visual3D and Model3D ;)

Greetings,
